Our School
Galiano Community School is located on the unceded traditional territory of the . It serves a community of approximately 1,200 full-time residents. Nestled among a forest, the school features a garden and supports place-based and outdoor education programs. The grounds include a well-maintained sports field, two new playgrounds, and an outdoor basketball and tennis court.
The main building comprises three large classrooms, a flexible learning space, a library, a gymnasium, a kitchen, a daycare, and StrongStart programs, along with the main office. Galiano Community School truly embodies the concept of a "community" school. We share our property with the and benefit from a quality learning partnership that provides bi-weekly literacy programming for students. We also have strong affiliations with the (GAC), the , and the .
Galiano Community School has a student population of 57, divided into three multi-age groupings: Kindergarten-Grade 1, Grades 2-4, and Grades 4-7. The school has a growing population of younger children, with only six children in the Middle Year age group (Grades 6-8).
