Graduation Ceremony
Each year in June, Gulf Islands Secondary hosts the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê Graduation Ceremony. This Ceremony honours the Graduate's accomplishments, and families will be issued a number of tickets to attend. A system to collect unused tickets is in place for families who would like to request additional tickets. The Ceremony is held in the GISS Gymnasium and is followed by the Ceremony Reception, organized by grade 11 parents, held in the Multi for families to connect and share light snacks and refreshments.

Scholarship and Awards Event
The Scholarship and Awards Event is an event that relaunched in 2024. It is a night when Scholarship and Bursary Recipients will be announced and presented with their awards. This night was created through a 2023-2024 Student Council proposal. Donors are given the opportunity to present the awards and congratulate the recipients. Only award winners will receive invites for themselves and guests to this event.

Safe Grad
Safe Grad is an event organized and run by grad parents. This is not a school sanctioned event and it is completely run outside the school system. The Safe Grad parent group will be connects directly with grads and families to organize and run this event each year.

Capstone Project Presentation Day
As part of your Career Education 12 Course, you will create and present a Capstone Project. At GISS, most students do this as part of the Career Education 12 course, which is run outside the timetable.
This course connects students through a Microsoft Teams classroom, and you are required to complete online assignments and participate in in-person workshops at school. The final assignment is the Capstone Presentation, which you will do in May during Capstone Presentation Day.
