Summary of the Special Public Board Meeting, held October 10, 2024

School Plans 2024/2025 | The Board received the 2024/2025 School Plans, which are available on the Strategic Planning and Direction page of the district's website.

French Immersion Field Trip Request | The Board approved, in principle, the Grade 11 French Immersion field trip request to Paris, France, in April 2025.

Amended 2025/2026 Five Year Capital Plan – Minor Submission | The Board approved the Amended 2025/2026 Five Year Capital Plan – Minor Submission, which now includes the request to replace our oldest bus. A summary of the plan is included in the .

Policy Committee | Notice of Motion 

Notice of Motion was presented for adoption of the following draft policies:

• Policy 2.10 Inclusive and Respectful Environments
• Policy 2.20 Sexual Identity, Gender Diversity, and Gender Expression
• Policy 3.50 Curricular, Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities
  These draft policies will be circulated for feedback. Feedback and adoption will be considered at the November 13 public meeting.

Policy Committee | Repeals
The Board repealed the following policies and procedures in favour of administrative practices: Policy and Procedure 205 Maintenance of Order, form 205-1 Maintenance of Order, and Procedure 212 Violence and Harassment-free District. 

As the Board continues renovating its policy manual, it welcomes feedback on draft policies, which will be posted on the district Bylaws and Policies page.
