Inclusive Education Team
Our Inclusive Education Team supports school-based teams and assists in coordinating resources to meet student needs. School-based teams work closely with families to provide support and information about the services available for their child. Our collaborative approach to Inclusive Education connects schools, families, and community agencies in the planning of educational programs that meet student needs and promote success.
The school-based team (SBT) is the heart of each school and has a shared responsibility, requiring collaborative practice to maintain focus on student achievement and continuous learning improvements and supports through:
- early identification
- targeted intervention
- direct supports
- tracking and assessment of impact
School-based team members include school administrators, program managers and the Vice-Principal of Inclusive Education. Each team may also include counsellors, teachers, education assistants, other district staff, child and youth care workers, Indigenous support workers as well as outside partner agencies. Please contact your school directly for more information about the school-based team.
