Board Elections

The Board conducted its annual elections for the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, BCSTA Provincial Councillor, BCPSEA Representative, and Indigenous Education Committee Representatives (and alternate representatives).

Chairperson’s Report 

Trustee Code of Conduct | The members of the Board of Education reaffirmed their commitment to School District No. 64 .

Superintendent's Report

BAA Course Renaissance Studies | The Board approved the Board Authority Authorized Course: Renaissance Studies 12.

District Staffing and Enrollment | Staff presented the district enrollment report. Based on the September 1701 enrolment report to the Ministry, the student Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) for the 2024/2025 school year is 1469.

Secretary Treasurer's Report

Monthly Financial Report | The monthly operating expense report shows that expenses are slightly above expected budget levels by 1.8%.

Gulf Islands International Program | The Board voted to cease operations of the effective June 30, 2025, based on the program running at a financial deficit.

District Transportation Update | A summary of the transportation services offered by 香港六合彩 compared to surrounding districts was presented, emphasizing the importance of students registering for transportation services before the May 31 deadline.

Policy 3.50 Curricular, Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities was adopted and Policy/Procedure 407 Student Supervision, Policy /Procedure 412 Student Travel: Educational Field Trips, and Form 412-1 Volunteer Drivers Application were repealed.

Policy Committee | Notice of Motion 

Notice of Motion was presented for adoption of the following draft policies:

  • Policy 3.10 Indigenous Education
  • Policy 3.20 School Catchment Areas
  • Policy 3.40 District Specialty Programs

The policies will be posted on the district website, circulated for feedback, and considered for adoption at the January 15, 2025, public board meeting. Please provide any feedback for consideration before January 3, 2025.
