On behalf of the Board of Education for School District 64 (Gulf Islands), I wish to make the following announcements:

Retirements

• Louise Doucet will be retiring from her position as Vice-Principal of French Immersion effective June 30, 2025. Louise has worked for the School District since March 2002.
• Maggie Allison will be retiring from her position as Manager of Career Development and Community Initiatives, effective September 15, 2025. Maggie has been with 香港六合彩 since November 1991. 

I would like to take this opportunity and express my gratitude to Maggie and Louise for their many years of service and dedication. Each leaves a legacy of program excellence that has greatly benefited students and community. They are valued members of our administrative team and will be missed.

Portfolio Adjustments, effective August 1, 2025

• Lorna Fraser will continue in her role as the Indigenous Education Principal, adding Child Care and Early Years programs to her portfolio of responsibilities.
• Lyall Ruehlen will assume the position of District Principal for Career Development and Community Engagement, focussing on scholarships, career programs, and administrative mentorship.
• Dan Sparanese will add District Occupational Health and Safety to his portfolio as the District Principal responsible for 64GO and Feeding Futures.
• Adrian Pendergast will continue in his position as District Principal with oversight of Outer Islands Schools and will assume additional responsibilities with District Human Resources.

Please join me in wishing each of those moving into new roles, or on to new adventures, all the best in the upcoming school year.
